Our services include IMEI\/ESN verification, device authentication, whitelisting, blacklisting, mobile phone tracking, counterfeit detection, and lawful interception support for law enforcement and mobile network operators.<\/p>\n<p>This Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data in compliance with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:12] of Zimbabwe (2021)<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>Guidelines issued by <strong>POTRAZ (Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe)<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>Applicable international best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of all individuals who interact with our systems, platforms, and services, including subscribers, law enforcement agencies, mobile network operators, and business partners.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Scope<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This Policy applies to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All personal data processed by CEIR Zimbabwe, whether collected through our <strong>Websites (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ceirzimbabwe.com\/\">www.ceirzimbabwe.com<\/a>)<\/strong>, our <strong>CEIR software<\/strong>, mobile applications, or offline interactions.<\/li>\n<li>Data collected and processed in connection with IMEI whitelisting, blacklisting, and mobile phone fraud\/theft investigations.<\/li>\n<li>All employees, contractors, and third parties who process personal data on behalf of CEIR Zimbabwe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Definitions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Personal Data<\/strong>: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual (e.g., name, contact number, IMEI number, national ID).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Processing<\/strong>: Any operation performed on personal data, whether automated or manual (collection, storage, transfer, deletion, etc.).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data Subject<\/strong>: Any individual whose personal data we process (e.g., mobile subscriber, complainant, employee).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Controller<\/strong>: CEIR Zimbabwe, which determines the purpose and means of processing data.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Processor<\/strong>: Any third party contracted by CEIR Zimbabwe to process data on its behalf.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Legal Basis for Processing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We only process personal data under lawful bases as set out in the <strong>Data Protection Act<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Consent<\/strong> \u2013 where you have given us clear permission.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Legal Obligation<\/strong> \u2013 where processing is required by Zimbabwean law, regulation, or court order.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Legitimate Interests<\/strong> \u2013 where necessary to prevent fraud, theft, and ensure network\/device security.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Public Interest &amp; Security<\/strong> \u2013 for law enforcement, public safety, and combating crime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Categories of Data Collected<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Depending on the service provided, CEIR Zimbabwe may collect and process:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Identification Data<\/strong>: Full name, national ID, passport, or other government-issued identification.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact Data<\/strong>: Address, phone number, email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Device Data<\/strong>: IMEI\/ESN\/MEID, device brand\/model, SIM number (if applicable).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Transaction Data<\/strong>: Records of device registration, blacklisting\/whitelisting actions, theft reports.<\/li>\n<li><strong>System Data<\/strong>: IP address, login information, browser type, system logs for security monitoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We do <strong>not<\/strong> knowingly collect data from children under 18 unless explicitly authorized by parents\/guardians or required by law.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Purpose of Data Processing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>We process personal data strictly for legitimate business and regulatory purposes, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mobile device authentication<\/strong> (validating IMEI numbers).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Whitelisting, blacklisting, and greylisting<\/strong> of devices.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobile phone tracking &amp; recovery<\/strong> in collaboration with mobile network operators and law enforcement.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fraud detection &amp; crime management<\/strong> (counterfeit, cloned, or tampered IMEIs).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Regulatory compliance &amp; lawful interception<\/strong> as mandated by POTRAZ and other authorities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Customer service and support<\/strong> (handling queries and complaints).<\/li>\n<li><strong>System security monitoring<\/strong> and prevention of unauthorized access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Data Sharing &amp;
